Silver Pendant the Pliska rosette 7236
The Pliska Roses is a medieval Bulgarian bronze artifact found in the old capital Pliska in 1961. It is dated to the 7th-9th century, and its diameter is 38 mm. The rosette is a pendant depicting a seven-pointed star with two proto-Bulgarian runic signs cut out on each ray and a ring for hanging. On the back of the medallion is carved the pro-Bulgarian pagan sign IYI, which, according to Rasho Rashev, continues to be used for about a century after the Christianization of the Bulgarians as a symbol equivalent to the cross.
